RedBird takes your privacy seriously. We designed RedBird so that sensitive information such as your cycle history, symptoms, health conditions, and personalisation can remain primarily on your device rather than being stored in a RedBird database.
When you choose to use AI-powered features, limited information needed to generate the requested content may be securely sent to our AI service providers. RedBird does not include your name, email address, or RedBird account ID in the content sent to the AI model.
We do not sell your personal information or health data, and we do not share your health data with advertisers.
This Privacy Policy explains what information RedBird collects, where it is stored, why it is used, and the choices you have regarding your information.
01 · Information We Collect
The information RedBird processes depends on the features you choose to use.
Information stored primarily on your device
RedBird may store the following information locally on your device:
- Menstrual cycle dates and period history
- Cycle predictions and current cycle phase
- Symptoms and daily tracking entries
- Health conditions you choose to add
- Wellness goals
- Dietary preferences, allergies, and food preferences
- Personalisation settings
- Reminder preferences
- Life-stage information you choose to provide
- AI-generated responses that are cached within the app
This information is used to personalise your RedBird experience.
Because this information is generally stored locally rather than in RedBird's database, RedBird may not be able to recover it if you delete the app, clear the app's local data, lose your device, or otherwise remove that information.
Your device or operating-system backup settings may separately affect whether app data can be restored.
Information stored on RedBird's servers
RedBird stores limited information necessary to operate your account and provide certain features, including:
- Account information: such as your name and email address
- Authentication information: managed through Supabase or the sign-in provider you choose
- Subscription status: such as whether you have an active subscription or free trial
- Saved recipes
- Saved shopping list information
- AI usage information: such as an internal usage count used to apply feature or fair-use limits
- Support communications: if you contact us, we may retain your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond
RedBird does not intentionally store your complete menstrual cycle history, symptom history, or health-condition tracking history in our account database.
02 · Where Health Information Comes From
Health-related information processed by RedBird generally comes directly from you when you enter information into the app.
RedBird may also generate information based on what you provide. For example, the app may calculate your estimated cycle phase based on period dates you have entered.
Depending on the features you use, health-related information may include:
- Menstrual and reproductive health information
- Cycle dates and estimated cycle phases
- Symptoms
- Mood and mental-wellness tracking
- Health conditions you choose to identify
- Dietary or nutritional information
- Medication or supplement information if a feature allows you to enter it
- Life-stage information
- Other health or wellness information you voluntarily provide
You control what information you choose to enter into RedBird.
03 · How We Use Your Information
We use information to provide and personalise RedBird's features.
This may include using your information to:
- Track and estimate your menstrual cycle
- Display your current or estimated cycle phase
- Personalise app content
- Provide nutritional information
- Generate personalised recipes and meal suggestions
- Generate personalised educational insights
- Adjust content based on symptoms or health conditions you have selected
- Save your account preferences
- Maintain saved recipes and shopping lists
- Manage subscription access
- Prevent misuse and enforce usage limits
- Provide customer support
- Maintain the security and operation of RedBird
RedBird does not use your health information for third-party advertising.
Push notifications are sent only when notifications are enabled on your device and permitted through your operating-system settings.
04 · AI-Powered Features
RedBird uses Anthropic's Claude API to power certain personalised features, including features such as:
- Personalised insights
- Recipe suggestions
- Meal planning
- Nutrition-related suggestions
- Educational explanations
When you use an AI-powered feature, RedBird sends only the information reasonably needed to generate the requested response.
Depending on the feature, this may include:
- Your current or estimated cycle phase
- Symptoms you have entered
- Health conditions you have selected
- Dietary preferences
- Allergies or food restrictions
- Wellness goals
- Other personalisation relevant to the request
What RedBird does not intentionally include
RedBird does not intentionally include your:
- Name
- Email address
- RedBird account ID
- Payment information
in the content sent to Anthropic for AI personalisation.
This means the AI request is not intentionally identified with your RedBird account. However, health information may still be sensitive even when direct identifiers such as your name and email address are removed.
How AI requests are processed
AI requests are routed through Cloudflare, which acts as an intermediary between the RedBird app and Anthropic and helps protect RedBird's private API credentials.
Requests are transmitted using encrypted connections.
Under Anthropic's current policies for its commercial API, Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models by default. Under Anthropic's standard API retention practices, inputs and outputs are generally deleted from its systems within 30 days, subject to limited exceptions such as legal requirements, safety enforcement, abuse prevention, or a different contractual arrangement.
RedBird does not use AI-generated content as medical diagnosis or treatment.
AI-generated information is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It should not replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
05 · Health Data & Your Privacy
We consider menstrual, reproductive, symptom, and health-condition information to be particularly sensitive.
RedBird is designed to limit how much of this information is stored on our servers.
We do not:
- Sell your health data
- Sell your menstrual-cycle information
- Share your health information with advertisers
- Use health information for targeted advertising
- Intentionally send your name or email address to the AI model with health information
Health information may be processed by service providers only when necessary to provide a feature you have requested, such as generating an AI-powered personalised response.
06 · Subscriptions & Payments
RedBird offers optional paid subscriptions through:
- Apple App Store In-App Purchases
- Google Play Billing
Apple or Google processes your payment directly.
RedBird does not receive or store your complete debit-card or credit-card number.
RedBird may receive information from Apple or Google confirming information such as:
- Whether you have purchased a subscription
- Whether the subscription is active
- The type of subscription
- Renewal or expiration status
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the platform where you purchased it.
iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
Deleting your RedBird account does not necessarily cancel an active Apple or Google subscription. Subscriptions should also be cancelled through the appropriate app store.
07 · Third-Party Service Providers
RedBird uses a limited number of third-party services to operate the app.
Supabase
Used for services such as:
- Account authentication
- Account information
- Database functionality
- Subscription status
- Saved recipes
- Saved shopping-list information
Anthropic — Claude API
Used to generate AI-powered personalised content.
Depending on the feature you request, Anthropic may process limited health, cycle, symptom, dietary, or personalisation information necessary to generate the response.
RedBird does not intentionally include your name, email address, or RedBird account ID in the AI prompt.
Cloudflare
Used as part of RedBird's infrastructure to securely route AI requests and protect RedBird's API credentials.
Cloudflare may process technical information necessary to transmit and secure these requests.
Google
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google processes information necessary to authenticate your account according to Google's own privacy practices.
Apple and Google Play
Apple and Google process purchases, subscriptions, and related transaction information when you purchase RedBird Premium through their platforms.
These service providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and legal obligations.
08 · Data Sharing
RedBird shares personal information only when reasonably necessary to operate the app, provide a service you have requested, comply with legal obligations, protect RedBird or its users, or when you otherwise direct or consent to the sharing.
Categories of third parties that may receive information include:
- Cloud hosting and database providers
- Authentication providers
- AI service providers
- Network and infrastructure providers
- Apple and Google for subscriptions and purchases
- Professional or legal service providers when reasonably necessary
- Government authorities where disclosure is legally required
RedBird does not sell your personal information or consumer health data.
If RedBird's business is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable privacy laws and appropriate protections.
09 · Data Retention
We aim to keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.
Locally stored information
Cycle data, symptoms, health conditions, and similar personalisation information stored locally on your device remain there until you delete or modify them, clear the application's data, delete the application, or your device otherwise removes the information.
Account information
Account information may be retained while your RedBird account remains active.
When you request account deletion, RedBird will delete or de-identify information associated with your account as required by applicable law, subject to information we may need to retain for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or regulatory reasons.
Support communications
Support communications may be retained for a reasonable period so we can respond to requests, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal requirements.
Third-party processing
Information processed by third-party providers may be subject to those providers' applicable retention policies.
For example, Anthropic's standard commercial API retention policy currently provides for API inputs and outputs to generally be automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days, subject to certain exceptions.
10 · Data Security
RedBird uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Most cycle, symptom, health-condition, and personalisation information is stored locally on your device.
The security of locally stored information also depends on your device's security features. We recommend using protections such as:
- A device passcode
- Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint authentication, or similar biometric protection
- Current operating-system updates
- Device encryption where available
Information transmitted between RedBird and its service providers is transmitted using encrypted connections.
For information stored through RedBird's backend services, security measures may include encryption and database access controls such as row-level security.
However, no electronic storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.
11 · Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information or consumer health data.
These may include the right to:
- Know what personal information RedBird maintains about you
- Request access to your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Ask whether RedBird collects or shares certain health information
- Withdraw consent to certain future collection or sharing where applicable
- Receive information about categories of third parties with whom information has been shared
- Appeal certain decisions regarding a privacy request where applicable law provides that right
Some information exists only on your device. Because RedBird does not possess that information on its servers, we may be unable to provide a copy of information that exists solely on your device.
To make a privacy request, email:
app.redbird@gmail.com
Please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
We may need to verify your identity before providing, modifying, or deleting information associated with an account.
We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable privacy law.
If we deny a privacy request and applicable law gives you a right to appeal that decision, you may request an appeal by replying to our decision or emailing us at the address above with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line.
12 · Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your RedBird account and associated server-side personal information by:
- Using the account deletion feature within RedBird, where available, or
- Emailing app.redbird@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account"
Account deletion applies to information RedBird controls on its servers.
Information stored only on your device can be removed through the app or by deleting the application's local data.
We may retain limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary for purposes such as fraud prevention, security, accounting, dispute resolution, or compliance with legal obligations.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your RedBird account.
Deleting your RedBird account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.
13 · International Processing
RedBird and the service providers we use may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
As a result, information processed by a service provider may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where that provider or its infrastructure operates.
We take reasonable steps to use reputable service providers and limit the information they receive to what is reasonably necessary for their role.
14 · Children's Privacy
RedBird is currently intended for users aged 18 and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18 contrary to this policy, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
A parent or guardian who believes a minor has provided personal information to RedBird may contact:
app.redbird@gmail.com
15 · Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RedBird changes, new features are introduced, service providers change, or legal requirements change.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or share sensitive personal information, we may provide additional notice within RedBird or request consent where required by applicable law.
